Fameno Rakotoniaina is from Madagascar where she obtained a bachelor degree in Mathematics and Education. In 2019, She joined AIMS South Africa under their Structured Master’s program. Later, She did MSc in Combinatorics at Stellenbosch University. Currently, She is joining AIMS Ghana as part of the PhD MaMod Cohort 2023. Her research focus is on the malaria parasite invasion of the red blood cells from the physical and mechanical perspective.
Giving back to the community is a core value for me as an international student. From 2019 to 2023, She had always volunteered to tutor in high schools around Western Cape, SA through Ykamva Youth and Tomorrow trust.
“I will utilize my education and leadership skills to help the youth becoming a pillar of the academic expansion within Africa for the development of Africa.”
